A popular sandy beach to the north of the city, Cramond is ideal for a family day out or a relaxing roll along the promenade. Visit the Boardwalk Beach Club cafe for freshly-roasted coffee and a selection of tasty treats from local artisan suppliers.
Yellowcraigs is a natural cove beach surrounded by forest and grassland, situated a 45 minute drive from Edinburgh in East Lothian. With a large children's play area, WCs, showers and a wheelchair accessible path and ramp giving a view over the beach, it makes for the perfect family day out.
Home to the UK's only giant pandas, Edinburgh Zoo is set in 82 acres of sloping parkland. Experience keeper talks and hands-on animal encounters as well as a wide-range of eateries, several play areas and a fantastic gift shop. The daily penguin parade at 2.15pm is a must-see.
